Butter chicken pizza is a fusion dish that combines the flavors of traditional butter chicken a popular Indian dish with the classic ingredients of a pizza.
BUTTER CHICKEN PIZZA
Ingredients
2 tbsps butter
Ready-made chicken tikka pieces as required
Ready-made pizza dough made using 1½ cups refined flour (maida)
5-6 garlic cloves
1 inch ginger roughly chopped
3-4 medium tomatoes sliced
1 green chilli broken
5-6 cashew nuts
1 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
¼ tsp green cardamom powder
½ tsp garam masala powder
¼ tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) powder + for sprinkling
1 tbsp fresh cream
1 tsp honey
Refined flour for dusting
1 small green capsicum cut into small cubes
1 small onion diced and layers separated
8-10 small bocconcini pieces
Method
1. Preheat the oven with the baking tray at 250ºC.
2. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan. Add garlic ginger tomatoes and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add green chilli and mix.
3. Add cashew nuts and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add red chilli powder and salt and mix well. Add 1 cup water mix cover and cook till the tomatoes are soft and pulpy.
5. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool. Transfer the mixture into a grinder jar and grind to a fine paste. Transfer the paste in the same pan place it back on heat.
6. Add green cardamom powder garam masala powder and dried fenugreek levaes powder and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
7. Add the remaining butter and mix well. Add fresh cream and mix till well combined.
8. Switch the heat off and add honey and mix well. Allow to cool completely.
9. Knockback the dough take a portion of the dough dust the worktop with some refined flour place the dough on it and roll it into a disc.
10. Apply some of the prepared sauce over the disc. Arrange some chicken tikka pieces over it place some capsicum pieces onion dices break some bocconcini pieces and arrange them over the pizza. Carefully place the pizza on the hot baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
11. Bring the pizza out of the oven sprinkle dried fenugreek leaves powder cut into wedges and serve.
