With just days to go for the first parliament session after the Modi government's re election the Congress is trying to get its act together. But is it really managing to? At an informal meeting helmed by AK Antony senior Congress leader the party discussed state polls this year including Maharashtra Haryana Jharkhand and Jammu- Kashmir.. Rahul Gandhi was not seen at this meet.. And when asked about who is the Congress President since Gandhi quit on 25th May here's Randeep Singh Surjewala Congress leader said Rahul Gandhi was is and will remain President. So its not clear who is the party president who will lead it in parliament with just days to go for the first session.. or whether the leader of the party in parliament will be deemed as Leader of opposition.. Why should we care.. you may ask.. well because from the opposition side.. Congress still remains the party with the largest number of seats.. Will this session then be a walkover for the BJP? Here is what the experts said. “Congress problem is of its own making. Rahul Gandhi’s resignation should be accepted. I think there is a bit of shock they didn’t expect this figure in 2019” said political commentator Rasheed Kidwai. “They are the largest opposition partyThey cannot shy away responsibility. You do not fight election just for positions. The party has the job of floor coordination in this all-important budget session” added political analyst Manish Priyam. “Opposition looks rudderless; this is not good for the health of our democracy. It is for the opposition to take up issues when full budget is expected.” Economist Prasenjit Bose said.
